Building Permits

The Town of Mammoth Lakes Building Permit Application is required for ALL submittals. Use the button to the right to access our available applications.
A Building Permit is required for new construction, additions, alterations, repairs, remodels, plumbing and electrical work, demolition, spa installs, solar panel and battery storage installs, reroofs, siding replacement, woodstove/fireplace installs, and others.

Other Divisions

The Engineering and/or Planning Divisions may need to review the project. The Building Division will be responsible for routing the project to these Divisions as needed. Visit their websites below:

Depending on the scope of work, the project may need approvals from Agencies that work in concert with the Town of Mammoth Lakes but are not directly affiliated. It is the responsibility of the applicant to procure these approvals. Expect an email from buildingtech@townofmammothlakes.ca.gov with information regarding which of the following agencies' approvals are needed.
