DID YOU KNOW that FREE transit is available to all residents and visitors in the Town of Mammoth Lakes?
- The Town of Mammoth Lakes (Town) and Mammoth Mountain Ski Area contract with Eastern Sierra Transit Authority (ESTA) to provide free bus and trolley routes within the Town, Lakes Basin, Reds Meadow and Ski Area including access to Tamarack, Main, Eagle and Canyon Lodges.
- ESTA carries 900,000 passengers in a typical year, just in the Town of Mammoth Lakes. That’s equal to 600,000 vehicle trips every year that do NOT crowd the streets in town!
- The Town allocates over $1,000,000 each year from Transient Occupancy Tax (TOT) revenues to fund transit services.
- Twice a year, ESTA and the Town review routes and services through a process where members of the public are encouraged to provide input. From that input, improvements have been and will continue to be made to transit system.
- Tickets for routes outside of Mammoth Lakes and Dial-a-Ride can be purchased online.
- You can track ESTA transit service in real time using the Transit app.
