In recognition and in memory of long-time Town of Mammoth Lakes Recreation Commissioner Tony Colasardo, the Parks and Recreation Department, in partnership with the Colasardo family, have established the Tony Colasardo Scholarship Fund.

Tony Colasardo was a passionate advocate for inclusion and social equity and believed that every child regardless of income level, ability, race or gender should have access to the benefits of parks and recreation.

“We are honored and humbled to partner with the Colasardo family on this much needed and highly valued scholarship program that will enable any child to participate in our many wonderful community recreation camps and programs,” stated Stuart Brown, Parks and Recreation Director.

The Colasardo family made the first donation to the scholarship fund on February 14 and encourages the community to embrace Tony’s passion for inclusion and social equity by donating to the fund. Details about the program and how to donate (online or check) can be found by visiting www.tonycolasardoscholarshipfund.com.

The Tony Colasardo Scholarship Fund will provide full or partial scholarships, for youth (17 years of age or younger), to the many popular camps and recreation programs offered by the Parks and Recreation Department.
