Riding E-Bikes in Mammoth Lakes is a new and fun way to enjoy a stunningly scenic landscape. E-Bikes are encouraged in some places but not permitted in others. Please become familiar with where you can and cannot ride your E-Bike by reviewing the latest E-bike Information Handout.
The two-sided PDF provides specific information about where various E-bike types are allowed along with a map for further clarification. This information is for E-bike riders, local businesses and anyone who wants to get out and have a great time using this new and exciting technology.
This E-bike Information Handout has been produced in close coordination with Inyo National Forest to reflect the most current USFS policies. Class 1 E-bikes were authorized by the USFS, under the terms of their special use permit for the Town of Mammoth Lakes paved multi-use-pathways. This means Class 1 E-bikes are officially allowed on our local multi-use paved pathways such as the Town Loop and the Lakes Basin Path.
No E-bike of any kind is allowed on any trail designated as “non-motorized”. The Mammoth Lakes Trail System is working to provide clear regulatory signage on the ground.
Share the trails and have fun out there everyone!
