E-bike use is exploding and being a knowledgeable and respectful rider is more important than ever!
- In order to be classified as an e-bike, the bike must have pedals.
- Pedal-less electric bikes are not considered e-bikes and are classified as electric motorcycles.
- All classes (1, 2, & 3) of e-bikes are all allowed on the paved multi-use pathways (MUPs).
- E-bikes are permitted on all streets, roads, off highway vehicle (OHV) routes, and soft surface trails within the Mammoth Mountain Bike Park
- E-bikes are NOT permitted on soft-surface, non-motorized trails outside of the Mammoth Mountain Bike Park.
- All bicycle riders are required to wear a helmet and follow the same laws as cars when riding on streets and roads.
- Unless modified to be street legal in conjunction with a motorcycle license, pedal-less electric bikes are only permitted on OHV routes and are NOT permitted on any town roads, sidewalks, or MUPs.
- The speed limit on the multi-use pathways (MUPs) is 15 mph, yield to foot traffic, be respectful of others, and watch your speed!
