DID YOU KNOW THAT THERE ARE MANY OPPORTUNITIES TO PARTICIPATE IN CLEANING UP OUR COMMUNITY?

  • Defensible Space and Community Clean Up Event - The Town of Mammoth Lakes, along with Mammoth Disposal, are hosting a Defensible Space and Community Clean Up Event on June 23-24. Grab a bag on Saturday, June 24 to clean up our streets, parks, trails, multi-use paths, neighborhoods and public spaces. Trash IS NOT collected by staff from properties, but may be dropped off for free at 299 Commerce Drive.
  • Trashy Thursdays - Help keep your community clean by joining Trashy Thursdays this Summer from June 8 – September 29. Meet every Thursday at location around the area from 5-6pm. Prizes for all youth participants and gift cards raffled for the adults.
  • Stewardship Programs - Mammoth Lakes Recreation and the Town Office of Outdoor Recreation have many volunteer and sponsorship opportunities available through the Adopt-a-Trails, Tangle-free Waters, and Trail Days programs and more.
  • Chipping Service - The Mammoth Lakes Fire Protection District offers free chipping for residents’ tree trimmings and fallen limbs, which helps to create defensible space (a buffer between structures and surrounding vegetation) around homes, and is crucial for controlling wildfire spread.
