Mammoth Community Water District (MCWD) supplies water to Mammoth Lakes from two sources: diversions from Mammoth Creek, which spills from Lake Mary (in the Lakes Basin), and from various wells around the Town of Mammoth Lakes.

Southern California Edison (SCE) provides electrical power to Mammoth Lakes and surrounding areas. SCE offers various rates, including a domestic low-income, domestic seasonal, commercial, and pumping rates. Propane is also commonly used in Mammoth Lakes to fuel furnaces, water heaters, and stoves. AmeriGas and Eastern Sierra Propane both provide propane to the Mammoth Lakes area.

Verizon services telephones east of the Sierra Mountains and offers various special programs and rates for residential and commercial accounts. The area code for Mammoth Lakes is 760. Verizon, AT&T, Suddenlink, Frontier Communications, and Hughes Net provide internet service in Mammoth Lakes. Many residents in Mammoth Lakes utilize community dumpsters at Mammoth Disposal located at 59 Commerce Drive.
