Community Recreation Center (CRC) UpdateAfter multi-day storms, the crew have spent the majority of time clearing the site. Sub contractors will be back on the job next week to continue to build out the interior of the facility. Work continues on the mechanical and Zamboni rooms, installation of the HVAC system, rink lighting and fire suppression system. The Town appreciates the community’s understanding and patience as we work towards enhancing our community recreation amenities. Look for the weekly #crcupdates on the Town's Facebook page. On December 7, 2022, the Town of Mammoth Lakes, Mammoth Lakes Tourism (MLT), and Mammoth Lakes Recreation (MLR) launched an historic new, community-driven partnership with National Hockey League (NHL) franchise, the LA Kings. As part of the expansive, multiyear partnership, brokered by AEG Global Partnerships, the partners have teamed up to launch LA Kings Ice at Mammoth Lakes - the Town's first indoor Olympic-sized ice rink. Winter Recreation Update- Weather Alerts: National Weather Service Reno has issued a Winter Storm Warning for Mono County and the Town of Mammoth Lakes from Saturday afternoon through Monday morning. The forecast is for 8-12" of snow in Town with possibly 1-2 feet above 8,000 feet.
- Mammoth Outdoor Ice Rink: Operations have been extended for the season subject to snow/weather conditions. Please visit the website for session times, fees and the rink schedule or call (760) 965-3695 during operating hours.
- Mammoth Mountain: It’s a powder party! 10+ feet of snow in the past week has taken Mammoth beyond a winter wonderland, and made it feel like the inside of a snow globe with chest deep powder. Our outside operations team is working hard to dig out buried lifts along with ski patrol conducting avalanche mitigation work across the mountain in an effort to expand terrain as quickly and safely as possible. It’s very deep out there, please ride with a buddy and keep your buddy in sight at all times. We are in for a few days of nice weather before another storm moves in Saturday night. Now is the time to claim some of the best conditions and most snow in years! You can find regular updates on the Mountain Report or on @MammothMountain on Instagram.
- June Mountain: June is reporting 424" of snow with a 133" base. Needless to say, conditions are all time! View the latest conditions and don't miss Bucky’s Bonfire every Saturday at 2pm.
- Tamarack XC: View the latest conditions.
- Town Nordic Trails: The ENTIRE network of Shady Rest Winter Trails are open-subject to weather/snow conditions. All trail conditions and reports can be found here or on the new USFS Winter Trail Grooming page. Please clean up after your pooch, and if you bag it, please take it!

Please Leash Your Dog!The Mammoth Lakes Police Department is issuing citations to all owners with dogs off-leash at Shady Rest Park and throughout Town after issuing only warnings for the last 2 years. It is unlawful for any dog owner to allow their dog to run at large within the Town of Mammoth Lakes Municipal Boundary. The Eastern Sierra offers an incredible outdoor playground for dog owners to play and walk with your dog(s) off-leash. The Town is moving forward with plans for a dog park with construction expected to commence in the fall of 2023. Thank you for your commitment in keeping Mammoth Lakes safe and beautiful for all to enjoy! Learn more about Dog Resources, Licensing, Education and Enforcement.

ATTENTION SNOWMOBILERS!In the Town of Mammoth Lakes, beyond the Shady Rest “slow zone” around the softball fields, geothermal pipelines that run above ground are now marked with yellow/black/red bamboo poles about 20 feet apart. Please use caution riding in this area by slowing down and staying on the groomed trail when you are within a quarter mile of the parking lot. Please do not ride your snowmobile over these pipelines. This is a temporary solution while we work to install more appropriate signage and highly visible markings. Thank you for being safe on your snowmobile! Need a map? Download it on our snowmobiling page either in PDF or georeferenced on Avenza for free.
