The Parcel Update

The Parcel Construction Update

Recent weeks at The Parcel have seen the completion of concrete foundations, walls, and second floor podiums for both buildings. The installation of the structural steel for the Building 'A' community space and childcare center is in progress, along with the interior plumbing and electrical utilities. Most significantly, and as the photo shows, installation of the modular building units began. A total of 24 modules (approximately one-quarter of the total number of modules) have been placed, beginning at the southwest corner of Building 'A'. The placement of all modules for both buildings is expected to be completed in about 3 weeks. Phase 1 of The Parcel affordable housing project, aka “The Sawyer”, incudes 81 apartment units within 2 buildings, at several affordability levels and with a variety of unit sizes between studio and 3 bedrooms. Anyone interested in living at The Parcel should contact the Town developer’s property manager, Buckingham, at (855) 452-8250 (option 0) for additional information and to be placed on the waiting list. #theparcelnews

Community Recreation Center

Community Recreation Center (CRC) Update

This week, snow arrived in Mammoth Lakes that accelerated the exterior work with crews installing concrete curbs for the paving of the Fire Department access road on the west side of the site. Crews on the inside were pulling the interior membrane panels, working on the locker room foundations, lobby restrooms and utilities. The Sprung end walls are all installed, with the window/door framing and glazed windows next on the list to be completed. In the coming weeks, several subcontractors will be on site to build out the interior of the CRC and get us that much closer to opening in 2023. The Town appreciates the community’s understanding and patience as we work towards enhancing our community recreation amenities. Look for weekly #crcupdates on the Town's Facebook page. Temporary park closure: For the duration of construction for the new Community Recreation Center, the Mammoth Creek Park playground, restrooms and parking lot will be CLOSED to the public.
