Get Your Skate on at the Mammoth Ice Rink - Last day is March 6! The Mammoth Ice Rink is open seven days a week, typically from Noon-10:00pm (conditions permitting). Amenities include skate sharpening, skate rentals and snack and beverage services. Winter Fitness Challenge is ON! Parks and Recreation is challenging the community to 100-miles this winter. Everyone is welcome to participate, and entry is FREE. Once registered, you have until the end of March to log 100 miles either skiing, snowboarding, skating, walking, biking, etc. A mix of activities is encouraged. Everyone who finishes 100 miles is entered into a raffle drawing for prizes, but the real prize is living a healthy lifestyle! Community Recreation Center (CRC) UpdateHamel Contracting Inc. is on winter suspension, with work planned to resume in the spring of 2022 coinciding with the arrival of the Sprung Structure. The site will be secured for the winter. Look for the weekly #crcupdates to resume in 2022! Temporary park closure: For the duration of construction for the new Community Recreation Center, the Mammoth Creek Park playground, restrooms and parking lot will be CLOSED to the public. The Town will maintain public restrooms on the eastside of Mammoth Creek Park accessible from the multi-use path. We invite you to enjoy one of our many playgrounds at Trails End Park, Shady Rest Park and the Community Center. We apologize for this inconvenience and appreciate your understanding as we work towards enhancing our community recreation amenities.

Mammoth High School to Play in CIF Soccer Championships at Whitmore This Saturday (Feb. 26), the Whitmore Sports Field is hosting the Division 5 and 6 California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) Championship soccer matches. The Mammoth High School girls team will be playing in the Division 5 Championship match at noon versus Fresno Christian, while the boys will play Parlier at 3:00pm in the Division 6 Championship match. Per CIF rules, admission is $7 for adults and $5 for students and seniors. To prepare for the CIF Championship matches, Parks and Recreation is providing additional trash cans and Mammoth Disposal is delivering 3 additional restrooms. As a reminder, Whitmore Park is currently winterized with no water on site, so please bring your own beverages and leave no trace by properly disposing of them in provided trash receptacles. Funding Available for Local ArtsThe National Endowment for the Arts recently announced $20,200,000 in grant funding from the American Rescue Plan. We are thrilled to share that Mammoth Lakes Recreation was awarded $150,000 for subgranting to help our local arts and cultural community recover from the pandemic. These funds will support job creation, facilities management, health and safety supplies and promotion of events. Learn more about and apply online.

Mono County Little LeagueRegistration for the 2022 Mono County Little League season is NOW OPEN. The cost is $95 per child, with a sibling discount of $10 for each additional child (2nd child: $10 off, 3rd child: $20 off, 4th child: $30 off, etc.). Registration closes on March 22, 2022. Leave No Trace!While enjoying beautiful Shady Rest Park, the groomed Nordic trails, or the sensational views at the Sherwins Trailhead, please park in designated areas and leave no trace! Trash bins are provided, along with complimentary doggie bags so please keep your dog on a leash, pick up your dogs waste AND put it in the trash bin. We encourage responsible dog ownership while visiting these high-use areas by adhering to the Town Municipal Code below. Elevate Mammoth
Elevate is Mammoth Hospital's community prevention, wellness, and performance institute focused on improving the health of our community through facilitating positive lifestyle choices and providing the necessary knowledge, resources, and skills. Elevate was launched in the Spring of 2021 by Mammoth Hospital. Join a variety of virtual and in-person wellness programs including Pilates, Tai Chi, and Mom Strong: Perinatal Core & Pelvic Health, support groups, prenatal classes, and education series on nutrition and mindfulness. Mammoth Lakes Library Storytime and Reading Challenge In addition to our weekly Facebook Live Storytimes on Wednesdays at 10:30am and in Spanish alternate Fridays at 10:30am on Mammoth Lakes Library's Facebook page, Mono County Library's winter reading challenge is back with #WinterReads2022. Makerspace and MonoBookBox Program The library continues to offer free all-ages seasonal Makerspace Kits and Activity Zines for pick up at the front desk, along with Storytime To Go bags for young families at Mammoth Lakes Library. School age kids can still sign up for a few remaining slots in our winter MonoBookBox Program and high school age teens can participate in our Evolution of Storytelling Project which includes free journaling boxes and zine-making kits and this season adds in-house use of iPads for digital story creation and recording equipment for oral history/podcast style storytelling. Adults can take advantage of our Drop-In Sewing Machine Time at the 2nd floor Makerspace every Wednesday from 2:30-4:30pm
