2020 National Skating Month

Free First Time Skate Assist Lessons - Fridays in January 

Discover the magic of skating this Friday at the Mammoth Ice Rink! Celebrate USFS National Skating month with a free first time skate assist lesson each Friday in January. This Friday, January 24 free first time skate assist lessons will be from 4pm to 6pm and are open to ages 5+. These 20 minute lessons are designed to introduce you to skating and getting comfortable on the ice. A live schedule is available at www.MammothIceRink.com

Instructional Basketball
This free program is open to children in first and second grade to introduce basketball fundamentals.
Dates: February 6 – March 19, 2020
Time: 5:15 to 6:00 pm
Location: Mammoth Middle School Gym
Cost: Free – open to 1st and 2nd grade students only

After School Art
Get Creative with artist Kelly Turner. Children will be working on their drawing skills. Some instruction but focus on seeing like an artist. Really inspiring, fun still life boxes set up to be drawn with colored pencils, pastels, markers and water colors. Smocks available. Please send child with water and snacks.
Dates: Feb 3, Feb 10, Feb 17
Time: after school until 5:00 p.m.
Location: Mammoth Lakes Community Center
Cost: $30 per class, all materials provided.

Open Studio
Open Studio will be held at the Mammoth Lakes Community Center on Monday evenings in February. If you have never painted before instruction and supplies for painting and drawing can be provided for a fee. Whether you like to draw, paint, make jewlery, digital artist, do sculputre, come hang out! This is a great way to get to know other artists in the community.

Time: 5:30 to 8:00 pm
Cost: $15 for open studio, $30 instruction and materials for new artists

Get inspired with the 5th Annual Winter Adventure Series presented by ESIA tonight at the Mammoth Lakes Visitor center with the presentation Rock Climbing: Foundation for Life. On Saturday, head to Lone Pine for a free interpretive hike through the Alabama Hills at 10 am exploring the extensive film history in this unique area. Finally, this Sunday enjoy bottomless mimosas and Belgian waffle bar at Black Velvet’s Paint and Sip Brunch.
