The Town of Mammoth Lakes Building Division, Mammoth Lakes Fire Department, CAL FIRE San Bernardino/Inyo/Mono Unit and the Mammoth Lakes Police Department are notifying all property owners to be aware of, understand and manage the signs of structural damage resulting from heavy snow.

The Town of Mammoth Lakes issued an Evacuation Warning on March 16, 2023 for snow damaged properties that pose a potential threat to life and property. Be aware that several structures throughout the Town of Mammoth Lakes have collapsed or experienced significant structural damage.
As of March 18, 65 properties in Town have been damaged from excessive snow load, displacing 37 residents and severely disrupting several businesses. If you have not shoveled your roof – do so now! The threat to public safety is extremely high.
A temporary emergency evacuation shelter has been set up at the Mammoth Middle School (1600 Meridian Blvd.) gymnasium.

Snow Removal Emergency Fund
Mammoth Mountain Community Foundation and Alterra Mountain Company Community Foundation have established an emergency fund to assist local residents and businesses with emergency snow removal needs during our recently declared state of emergency. Their goal is to assist financially and with coordination of contractors/snow removers for instances of immediate need for impending damage or danger due to heavy snow loads. Funds are limited and will be directed based on hardship, urgency and need for full-time resident occupied homes or full-time businesses. APPLY ONLINE.
