Mammoth Lakes, CA – The Mammoth Lakes Police Department is seeking public comments on a preliminary application to the State of California Off-Highway Motor Vehicle (OHMVR) Division for the 2020/2021 grant cycle. The public review and comment period for the Grants and Cooperative Agreements Program begins Tuesday, March 3, 2020, and ends Monday, May 4, 2020 5:00 PM.
This grant application includes funding for vehicle and equipment purchases, safety gear and patrol coverage to launch Mammoth Lakes Police Department’s first OHV program. The goal of the OHV program is to provide safety and education for both residents and visitors and to reduce intrusions into the wilderness and other protected areas. This will also allow MLPD to expand on existing partnerships with local Law Enforcement Agencies in OHV activities.
The Mammoth Lakes Police Department applied for this grant using the State of California’s On-Line Grant Application (OLGA). After the public review and comment period of 60 days, the final application will be submitted by June 1, 2020. The public may view and comment by visiting the State Grants and Cooperative Agreements Program website at ohv.parks.ca.gov. The OHMVR Division’s website provides detailed instructions for accessing the preliminary application and submitting comments.
