We offer a variety of youth programming throughout the year for locals and visitors alike.
This is an introductory level program for kids who are just becoming interested in the sport of basketball. This FREE program is designed for children ages 5-7 years. This program typically runs February through March.
Little Sluggers T-Ball
Introduce your child to the wonderful sport of baseball with this fun, safe and educational league. Parent involvement is required and children ages 1.5-5 years are welcome to join. Practice and games will take place on Wednesday evenings from 5:15 - 6:00pm at the Mammoth Elementary School fields. This program typically runs May through June.
We offer a variety of summer camps for children 4-14 years of age. Registration for summer camps opens the first Monday of April each year at 8:00 a.m. Camps fill up quickly and space is limited. These programs typically run June through August.

Sample all Mammoth has to offer with Mammoth Sampler Camps! Hiking, biking, swimming and more! This itinerary combines our classic Wilderness Camp and Adventure Camp into 4.5 days of jam packed fun and adventure!

Summer Swim Lessons
From June through August, the Whitmore Pool offers aquatic classes structured along the guidelines of the American Red Cross ’Learn to Swim Program’. Group and private lessons are available for all levels and ages. Group sessions include both 5 week programs (once a week, Mondays or Saturdays) and week-long sessions (5 days, Monday - Friday).
Hot Shots Basketball
Hot Shots is a fun and exciting co-ed instructional basketball program for 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders taught by Coach Lauren, Recreation Coordinators, and parent volunteers. The first month of the program is clinic style where the children learn the skills of the game. The last two months of the program is intramural league play where the children are divided up into teams where they will play against each other. This program typically runs November through January.
Fall Ice Skating Lessons
This is an introductory course for beginner skaters.* The classes are scheduled for a 4-week period November through December. Classes are typically held on Wednesday evenings from 3:15-5:00pm (weather permitting). Ages 7+ and all levels are welcome. The program fee includes skate & helmet rentals.
YOUTH SPORTS ORGANIZATIONS
Youth Sports Organizations
A number of youth sports organizations provide a variety of activities within the local Mammoth Lakes and Mono County communities. These activities include nordic skiing, soccer, volleyball, swimming, child care services, ice hockey, tee ball, baseball and a number of adaptive sports.
Offers both travel and non-travel teams for girls in grades 6-12. The volleyball program operates seasonally from January through June and also hosts an annual advanced skills summer camp.
EASTERN SIERRA NORDIC SKI ASSOCIATION Provides junior cross-country skiing and biathlon programs. Support is provided to local skiers in the form of financial assistance for equipment rentals, scholarships for travel and participation fees, training and race wax, uniforms, tools and coaching. Programs supported by ESNA include Gliders (after school sessions), Avalanche (weekend sessions), Mammoth Middle School Team, Mammoth High School Team and Mammoth Youth Competition Team.

All activities are filled on a first-come, first-serve basis. Activities are closed when maximum enrollment is met. The Parks and Recreation Department reserves the right to cancel or postpone any program or activity due to inclement weather or low enrollment. A full refund will be made if the Parks and Recreation Department cancels a program. A $40 service fee will be imposed for all returned checks and could result in refusal of future participation. All cancellations received more than two weeks prior to the start of the program will receive a refund, less a 10% processing fee. Participant cancellations received with less than one week’s notice prior to the start of the program are non-refundable. Please allow 1-2 weeks for any refunds.
