The Parks and Recreation Department is all recreation, all the time. We are passionate about our Town parks and facilities and committed to providing innovative and age-appropriate programming that connects with each and every community member to promote healthy and active lifestyles.
The Department proudly provides the following services:
Since 1985, America has celebrated July as the nation's official Park and Recreation Month. A program of the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA), the goal is to raise awareness of the vital impact that parks, recreation and conservation have on communities across the United States.
This July, the Town of Mammoth Lakes Parks and Recreation Department and the National Recreation and Park Association are celebrating A Lifetime of Discovery. Explore the "undiscovered" roles of local parks and recreation with a variety of fun activities planned for residents and visitors of all ages and abilities. In celebration of National Park and Recreation Month, we will be hosting the Mammoth Men's Softball Tournament Saturday, July 14 through Sunday, July 15 at Shady Rest Park. Take your family out to a ball game this weekend!
Men's and Coed Softball League kicked off this week. Catch a Men's League game every Monday and Wednesday or a Coed League game every Tuesday and Thursday out at Shady Rest Park. Full schedules, scores, and standings are available here.
After undergoing resurfacing, repainting and crack repair, the Community Center Tennis Courts are now OPEN! Join us on Tuesdays and Thursdays for Drop-in Adult Tennis Clinics or private lessons. Click here for more information on tennis programs and camps.
Registration for our summer camps, programs, and swim lessons opened on Monday, April 2, 2018 at 8:00 a.m. P.S.T. Some spots are still available and if the camp or program you were really hoping to join is sold out join the waitlist. FAQs about Waitlists
There are still some spots left in this fun, British-styled soccer camp that takes place Monday, July 16 - Friday, July 20 at Shady Rest Park. Click here to register or for more information.
The Mammoth Lakes Peapod Playgroup is currently taking a break for the month of July. Meetings will resume in August at Shady Rest Park. All Mono County expecting parents and families with children birth to five are invited to participate.

Mammoth Spanish Peapod Playgroup has been cancelled due to lack of participation and will be rescheduled in October 2018. If you'd like to be contacted when the group starts up again, please call Lara at (760) 914-2556.
