On September 1, 2015 the Town of Mammoth Lakes partnered with Xpress Bill Pay, the premier provider for online bill payment systems, to provide a new online payment system that is user-friendly and gives you an easy way to file your Return, pay your TOT/TBID online, and view historical Returns and payments.  

If you have an Internet connection and an e-mail address, you can now pay your bill online. It's fast, it's easy, and you no longer have to write a check each month or find a stamp when it's time to send in your payment. 

When you sign up for an online payment account you get a unique password that you use to access your personal account at XpressBillPay.com. Every month you will get a reminder e-mail to let you know when your Return is available online.

Then, just log in through your Web browser and open your pending Return, which will look like the paper Return you're familiar with. Select a payment type - credit card, debit card, or electronic funds transfer, and you're done!

It's that easy, and it only takes you a few minutes each month.

How to Sign Up
To create a new account on Xpress Bill Pay, please have the following information ready:
  • Your Business Tax Certificate number (aka your account number)
  • Your PIN number
  • An active email address
Please note that PIN numbers will be emailed to existing online portal users by August 28, 2015. If you have not received an email with your PIN number by that date or if you have never had an online portal account, please contact your Revenue Specialist from the contact sidebar. Please see the First Time Users Manual to get detailed step-by-step instructions on how to create a new account, file Returns, and make payments. 

1. Go to www.XpressBillPay.com and click on 'New to XPress Bill Pay? Register, and start paying your bills now." Please note that if you are an existing online portal user, you will still need to sign up for a new account on XPress Bill Pay. 

2. Follow the instructions on the screen. You will need a valid e-mail address to create an account. Once you've submitted your information, you will receive a default password by e-mail. If you do not see the email in your inbox within 10 minutes, please check your junk or spam folder.

3. Go back to www.XpressBillPay.com and log in using your e-mail address and password. The "Add e-Bills" page appears. This is where you will be linking your Business Tax Certificate to your online account. You will need the PIN number associated with your Business Tax Certificate to link your account. If you have not received your PIN number in the mail or email, please contact your Revenue Specialist from the contact sidebar. 

Once you've created an account, you'll be able to go online at any time to view and pay your bills.

Q: Does it cost anything to sign up for an online account?

A: No, it's free to sign up for an online account.

Q: I'm already an online portal user on the online payment system utilized by the Town prior to September 1, 2015. Do I still need to sign up for a brand new Xpress Bill Pay online account?
A: Yes, you will need to sign up for a new Xpress Bill Pay account. 

Q: What information do I need in order to sign up for an online account?
A. You will need to know your Business Tax Certificate number, your PIN number, your billing organization (Mammoth Lakes) and an active email address. The email address that you use to sign up for an account will also be your login username going forward. 

Q: What is Xpress Bill Pay?
A: Xpress Bill Pay is the company we have partnered with as of September 1, 2015 to handle our online payments. You access your account from their website, www.XpressBillPay.com

Q: What taxes and fees can I pay with an online account?
A: You will have the ability to file and pay your Transient Occupancy Tax (TOT), Tourism Business Improvement District (TBID) assessment, and your annual Business Tax.

Q: What payment choices do I have?
A: You can pay with a credit or debit card, or you can transfer funds directly from your checking account. There is no fee to pay directly out of your checking account as an electronic transfer or e-check. There will be a small convenience fee to pay with a credit or debit card.

Q: What will my Return look like online?
A: We try to match the look of your paper Return as much as possible, so you'll find it easy to read your Return onscreen.

Q: What other information is available?
A: You can view up to a year's history of your account online. 

Q: How do I know the payment went through?
A: After you complete the transaction, you will receive an e-mail receipt to confirm that your payment went through.

Q: When is the latest that an online payment can be made for it to be posted on the same business day?
A: Payments made online by 11:59 PM PDT will be posted on that business day.
 
Q: Is my information safe?
A: Absolutely. All the transactions are handled on secure servers. As long as you don't give out your password, only you will be able to access your account. Plus, your personal information or e-mail address will not be sold or rented to third parties for marketing purposes without your permission.

Q: Who can I contact if I haven't received my PIN number?
A: If you have not received your PIN number in the mail or by email, please contact your Revenue Specialist from the contact sidebar.
