An appeal of the Planning and Economic Development Commission's approval of the Grocery Outlet project was filed on June 29, 2017 by Grundman Law on behalf of "Sustainable Mammoth Lakes." The appeal states that the project was approved without adequate environmental review and requests that a complete environmental review of the project be completed, pursuant to the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA). (Note: The Commission found the project to be categorically exempt from CEQA
At this meeting, the Town Council voted 4-0, with one councilmember abstaining due to a potential conflict of interest, to deny the appeal and affirm the Planning and Economic Development Commission approval of the project.
