On January 6, 2016, Town Council a
uthorized the Town Manager to finalize scope and fee negotiations and execute an agreement with the top ranked consultant (HMC Architects
) for architectural and engineering design services for new Community Multi-Use Facilities.
The process will include but not be limited to site planning, any required environmental documentation, planning approvals, design and construction phase consultant services, and construction. The preliminary scope of services for the consultant includes:
Phase 1 - Conceptual Site Planning
Conceptual alternatives will be prepared for the overall site to include the Multi-use Facility, the Community Center and a playground with accessible components. The conceptual design, including up to three alternatives, will seek to provide the desired community benefit while considering how best to mitigate potential impacts to the environment and neighboring land uses.
Once Town selects a preferred alternative, preliminary design will be prepared. The goal is to provide enough design details to appropriately scope the required environmental documentation. The Architect will work closely with Town staff and the Town’s selected environmental consultant to incorporate design components in order to provide the desired community benefit while considering how best to mitigate potential impacts to the environment and neighboring land uses.
It is anticipated that this work will begin in January, 2016 and conclude at the end of April, 2016.
Phase 2 - Detailed Plans and Specifications
Phase 2 is scheduled to commence in early 2017.
Should Town approve the environmental documentation and provide direction to proceed, Phase 2 would include design services for the Multi-use Facility, site work and appurtenances, including roof structure performance specifications and reuse of available materials and equipment from the existing facility.
