The Whitmore Recreation Area is located 7 miles south of town off U.S. 395 on Benton Crossing Road (left at the green church). The Whitmore Ball Fields provide a regulation baseball diamond, two softball fields, and restrooms. Lights make these facilities available for night games. This facility is open from May through November 1, or as weather permits.
Please note: The Whitmore Pool will be closed on Monday, June 27 from 1-4pm. We are sorry for any inconvenience.
Take the bus!
Transit service to the Whitmore Pool commences on June 20 and concludes on August 19, 2016. Save gas, time and money, only $1.00 one-way for a 10-ride Punch Pass.
Whitmore Track & Sports Field
The NEW Whitmore Track and Sports Field is an all-weather, 9-lane polyurethane running track, with a full-size synthetic turf infield that will serve to enhance Mammoth Lakes’ reputation as the premier high-altitude training destination for a multitude of endurance sports and recreation.
Any organized, structured athletic activity requires the completion, submittal and approval of a Facility Use Application Form that includes approved liability insurance, and payment of all applicable fees.
Whitmore Pool is located on Benton Crossing Road adjacent to the ball fields.
This outdoor aquatic facility has a 360-degree view of the Eastern Sierra, Glass, and White Mountain ranges.
|The facility includes a six-lane 25-meter pool, children's wading pool, restrooms, hot showers, lawn area with shade structure, and vending machines. Red Cross-certified personnel staff the pool. The Whitmore Pool is home to the Mammoth Sharks!

Join the Whitmore Pool staff for a week of aquatic fun and safety! Participants must be able to swim 2 lengths of the pool.

Adult Stroke Improvement Class
June 2-July 7, 2016
Join certified swim instructors/coaches every Thursday afternoon from 5:30 - 7:00 p.m. to improve the four competitive strokes. Cost is only $10 per class. Drop-in's welcome!
Swim Lessons: Eastern Sierra Swim School 2016
June 20-July 29, 2016
The Whitmore Aquatics Staff is pleased to announce the new Eastern Sierra Swim School! We have taken the best of all popular learning methods and have created a smaller more custom program. Classes are 30 minutes long and week long sessions start every Monday. Various levels and class times are available. Classes are available for both adults and children. Class sizes are small so register early!

Private Swim Lessons
August 1-19, 2016
Private swim lessons are designed for both adults and children who want 1-on-1 attention in learning how to swim or improve their strokes. Classes are 30 minutes long and run Monday - Friday from 10:15am-10:45am, or 11am-11:30am. Please contact the Whitmore Pool directly for scheduling and registration at (760) 935-4222 or for more information contact the Recreation Department at (760) 934-8989 ext. 222.
The Whitmore Pool will be closed on Monday May 30, Monday June 27, and Monday July 4. Subject to change.
