The Housing Strategy will serve as an implementation toolkit reflecting the local context and needs. The Housing Strategy is intended to be flexible and responsive to changing local conditions.
The draft Housing Strategy incorporates data from the 2011 Housing Needs Assessment and results from a 2014 survey regarding housing needs in Mammoth Lakes, which was provided in both English and Spanish.
The draft Housing Strategy was recommended for approval by the Mammoth Lakes Housing, Inc. (MLH) Board in December 2014. The Planning and Economic Development Commission (PEDC) recommended revisions to the draft Housing Strategy on 2/11/15 (see staff report and video of the Commission meeting here).
The Town Council, PEDC, and MLH Board held a joint workshop to discuss the draft Housing Strategy on 3/18/15. You can review the workshop materials and video of the meeting here.

Mammoth Lakes Housing, Inc. (MLH) Board Meeting - 6/1/15
The Mammoth Lakes Housing, Inc. (MLH) Board reviewed a revised draft Housing Strategy on June 1, 2015. This revised draft incorporates comments from the Planning and Economic Development Commission meeting on April 8, 2015 (see below). The information for this meeting is available on the MLH website.
Planning & Economic Development Commission Review - 4/8/15
The Planning and Economic Development Commission found the draft Housing Strategy to be consistent with the Housing Element and CEQA, but did not recommend Council adoption of the draft Housing Strategy due to deficiencies and lack of clarity and substantiation of statements.
